11 Division- Residential Entries

Greetings 11 Division Community Members,

We are reminding the public to stay safe by securing your home as we experience a rise in thefts from vehicles and residential entries within our division.

We continue to receive repeat occurrences of theft from vehicles as suspects are gaining entry into unlocked vehicles and smashing windows or vehicles displaying valuable items. Residents are reminded to lock their doors and hide their valuables. Your vehicle is not a safe place to leave valuables.

Break & Enter reports are also being received and we are seeing a lot of entries through insecure rear doors. It is important to note that offenders are walking around in neighbourhoods, especially back yards, trying random doors to see which are insecure. It is important to lock your doors at all times and report to police anyone whom you feel is acting in a suspicious manner.

Please secure your home, lock doors, windows and consider installing an alarm system.

Reminder- If you are interested in a FREE security assessment from the 11 Division Crime Prevention Unit please contact us at: 11division@torontopolice.on.ca

You may also request a FREE Crime Prevention Toolkit from our office with information on: Auto Crimes, Break & Enter Prevention, Apartment Security, Personal Safety, Home Security, Social Networking Safety & much more.

Regards,
